In cooperation with Belgian communications agency Air, NMY developed a 3D app for ExxonMobil’s lubricants portfolio.

MISSION

Supporting sales

NMY was commissioned to create an interactive sales tool on tablets that supports ExxonMobil’s client meetings. The app was supposed to visualize the advantages of purchasing ExxonMobil products for clients and prospects alike, as well as being introduced to the world of industrial lubricants.

Approach

Useful and fun

NMY and Air developed an intelligent information architecture that puts the focal point of client consultations on interactive product presentation. A highlight of the app is the ability of the user to discover motors in 3D as well as their inner workings: every gearing mechanism can be viewed in an exploded view, meaning the user can deconstruct the motor to see each individual part. Through the calculated use of gamification, NMY was able to create an app that educates and informs in a playful way.

 

Solution

Greasing the wheels

The app showcases ExxonMobil’s services and draws comparisons to other lubricant manufacturers. The user experiences a very authentic 3D simulation of physical product properties, for example, and discovers thus the first-class quality of the products. Sales agents utilize the app successfully in meetings with clients and prospects.
