Paris 2011

On behalf of Cassidian, NMY develops and produces integrated communication for events as well as for Internet and mobile content. The marketing activity planned for 2011 includes the promotion of the multi-touch application developed by NMY. This interactive application covers simulations, product presentations, e-learning applications and data visualisation; an enthralling virtual world. The system is now being used in marketing and sales worldwide.

This is the premier of a newly developed technology. Recent success has encouraged both NMY and its clients to take the next step in this technological evolution; to further blur the line between illusion and reality. NMY has been successful in expanding the 3D presentation of EADS using a multi-touch table with additional 3D stereo projection. A veritable “firework” for the senses, as the interactively controlled content floated in 3D in front of the viewers in the room.
It’s a fascinating experience for young and old alike, because as in the film Avatar the virtual 3D world can be controlled by EADS via multi-touch in 3D stereo.

The principle behind 3D stereoscopy is simple. Two images with slightly different visual focuses are projected on to a surface and individually presented to both eyes. The human brain interprets them as one single image and this enables the viewer to perceive depth by merging the two images to form one three-dimensional image.

Stereoscopic 3D visualisation is used in many different applications to significantly enhance the understanding of both complex objects and visual data. A number of sectors use stereoscopic 3D image processing, including oil and gas exploration, construction and manufacturing, film and entertainment, medical image processing and many others. By using this technology the aim is to increase profitability as well as to make projects more efficient by speeding up decision-making processes.
