iOS is Apple's mobile operating system. Developed originally for the iPhone, it has since been shipped on the iPod Touch, iPad and Apple TV as well. As of September 2010, Apple's App Store contains more than 250,000 iOS applications, which have collectively been downloaded more than 6.5 billion times.
